Higher Education Salaries in the UK

Times Higher Education published its 2015 pay survey back in April, but I’ve only just found time to turn the data into some interactive visualisations.

I had to tidy the table up to make it usable in Tableau. I dropped the ‘All’ column from the original source: it most likely held weighted means, but I couldn’t find any explanation of how they were calculated, so I stuck to the ‘Female’ and ‘Male’ figures. The combined (‘All’) values in my workbooks are simply the means of those two.

I used Edubase data to add extra detail about each university, such as its region or location (available only for HE institutions in England).
